HSSAZ Welcomes Garth Stein, Author of the Art of Racing in the Rain

TUCSON, AZ –  Meet Garth Stein, bestselling author of the contemporary classic, The Art of Racing the Rain, on Saturday, February 8th at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona’s (HSSA) Annual Impact Lunch.

NorthMarq’s San Diego office secures $185 million in financing for Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems’ Campus in Chandler, Arizona

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – Eric Flyckt, senior vice president, and Wyatt Campbell, vice president of NorthMarq’s San Diego office, arranged a $185,000,000 loan for the recently completed Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems’ campus in Chandler, Arizona.

The development comprises a three-story, Class A, office building totaling 352,545-sqauer-feet, and a manufacturing building totaling 269,852-sqaure-feet. A life insurance company funded a fixed-rate loan which amortizes over 23 years.

The campus serves as Northrop Grumman Innovation System’s Launch Vehicle Division Headquarters. They are a global leader in aerospace and defense technologies. The launch vehicles are designed and manufactured in the new campus to transport cargo to the International Space Station, launch satellites and defend the nation.

The campus is located within Douglas Allred Company’s Park Place business park. Park Place is a 200-acre park situated in the highly desirable Price Road corridor at the intersection of the Loop 101 and 202 freeways, one of the fastest growing employment corridors in Metropolitan Phoenix. The corridor is home to leading-edge companies involved in financial services, technology, life sciences and other industries needing a skilled and educated workforce.

Allred began assembling the land for Park Place in 2007 and in December 2018 closed on their eighth land acquisition. In addition to the Northrop Grumman campus, Allred has developed 10 other office buildings in Park Place. In total, these projects comprise over 1.5 million-sqaure-feet of space which are 96 percent leased. In addition to Class A office buildings, this master-planned park includes restaurants and hotels.

Postcards alert voters to eligibility in Presidential Preference Election

PIMA COUNTY – Starting Feb. 4, all Pima County households with registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, will receive a mailer from the Pima County Elections Department detailing the requirements to participate in the March 17, 2020 Presidential Preference Election.

“We want to make sure voters are aware of their eligibility before they go to the polls and it’s too late to do anything about it,” Elections Director Brad Nelson said. “It’s our hope that the information reflected on the post card will educate voters and the general public about the uniqueness of this election and reduce confusion on Election Day.”

The Arizona Presidential Preference Election, which takes place March 17, gives voters the opportunity to choose who they would like to see as the presidential candidate in the Nov. 3 General Election. This is not a primary election and political parties decide whether or not to participate. In the case of the upcoming PPE, the Democratic Party is the only participant. Therefore, per State law, only voters registered as Democrats may vote.

“Voter registration records show nearly 60 percent of Pima County voters are ineligible to vote in the upcoming PPE,” Nelson said. “But there’s still time for people to become eligible, if they would like to vote in this election.”

To participate in the PPE, voters currently registered as Independents with no party preference or as members of the Republican, Libertarian or Green Party, must change their political party affiliation to Democrat. They can do this online or by calling the Pima County Recorder’s Office at (520) 724-4330 or 1-800-775-7462. The deadline to update this information is Feb. 18.

Voters who are unsure of their party affiliation may check their registration status on the Pima County Recorder’s website. All that’s needed is their driver’s license number, first/last name and date of birth.
