Arizona Tax Rate raise in City of Buckeye, Graham County and Town of Marana tomorrow
After revoking Model Option 6 of the Model City Tax Code, the City of Buckeye will levy a new 3% hotel/motel additional tax on July 1, 2015.
A new jail tax in Graham County increases the combined transaction privilege tax (TPT) rate for most transactions to 6.6%, effective July 1, 2015.
The Town of Marana will impose a temporary ½ percent tax rate increase for certain transaction privilege tax classifications for the purpose of funding the design and construction, and furniture, fixtures and equipment of a new police facility.
The new rate takes effect July 1 and raises the tax rate from 2 percent to 2.5 percent on amusements, job printing, manufactured buildings, timbering and other extraction, publication, hotels, commercial rental, leasing and licensing for use, rental occupancy, rental, leasing and licensing for use of TPP, restaurants and bars, retail sales, transporting and use tax purchases.
The tax rate for communications and utilities adjusts from 4 percent to 4.5 percent.
Rates for the following business classifications in Marana will remain unchanged Construction contracting (4%), Hotel (6%), Mining – metal (0.10%), Owner-builders (4%), and Speculative builders (4%).
