BMO Harris Bank Relocating to Central Arts Plaza; Secures Naming Rights for Iconic Central Arts District Tower

BMO-CAPPhoenix, AZ – BMO Harris Bank will be the newest tenant in the tower at Central Arts Plaza located at 1850 N. Central Ave. The Chicago-based bank is relocating its regional headquarters from its current location at One Camelback at the southeast corner of Central Avenue and Camelback Road. As part of the lease transaction, the iconic office tower will now be called BMO Tower at Central Arts Plaza.

Tom Adelson with CBRE’s Phoenix office negotiated the long-term lease on behalf of BMO Harris Bank. John Bonnell, Brett Abramson and Chris Latvaaho with JLL represented the landlord, California-based McCarthy Cook & Co.

BMO Harris Bank recognizes central Phoenix continues its renaissance as people migrate back to the city’s urban core and opted to be in the epicenter of it. The area has seen an influx of new restaurant and entertainment options, new multifamily development to assuage high rental demand, and a number of notable corporate users moving operations back to downtown and midtown Phoenix.

BMO Harris Bank joins a number of prominent tenants at Central Arts Plaza, including PWC, Eide Bailly, Dickinson Wright, Stinson Leonard Street, Cavanagh, Viad Corporation, Cramer Krasselt, the Associated Press and Berkshire Hathaway Energy Renewables, among others.

Built in 1991 as the Dial Corporation headquarters, Central Arts Plaza totals 500,000 square feet in 24 stories. The project anchors the Central Arts District, an area bounded by Roosevelt Street, Virginia Avenue, Seventh Street and Seventh Avenue in Phoenix. It is also directly adjacent to the Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix Theatre and Arizona Opera, and is a short walk to the Heard Museum and Phoenix Metro Light Rail.

Central Arts Plaza provides Class A office amenities including unobstructed 360-degree views of the entire Valley, a full service café and outdoor lounge, 10,000-square-foot fitness center, 150-person conference center with breakout boardroom and the 200-seat Playhouse on the Park performance theatre. The project features an award-winning, 2-acre park, sculpture garden and major water feature.

Cowboys Saloon to Lasso New Business at Peoria’s Park West

Park WestPhoenix, AZ Cowboys Saloon will soon open a new location in the Park West shopping center located at the northwest corner of Northern and the Loop 101 Freeway in Peoria, Arizona. The 18,339 square foot restaurant and bar is projected to open January 1, 2016. Velocity Retail Group represented The Howard Hughes Corporation, the owner of the shopping center, in the transaction and agents John Jackson, Larry Miller and Michael Clark teamed up to finalize the ten-year lease. The tenant was represented by Starpoint Commercial’s Joshua Rush.

“Cowboys Saloon is one of several new additions coming Park West,” said John Jackson, associate vice president at Velocity Retail Group. “Look for more tenant announcements in the coming months. Park West is a dynamic shopping center that provides a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment options all in one place,” he added.

The entire project totals 250,000-square-feet of superior retail. The project includes stunning finishes, flexible floor plans, and charming tree-lined streets for visitors to access their shopping favorites. Future plans include the addition of a 160,000-square-foot Innovation Campus which will eventually house higher education, technology offices, and future multi-family.
