Richmond and Meritage Close on 128 Lots for $7.52M at Entrada Del Rio in Rancho Sahuarita

SAHUARITA, ARIZONA — Nestled between the beauty of nature in neighborhood parks and the nearby convenience of the Rancho Sahuarita Marketplace, Entrada Del Rio at Rancho Sahuarita offers future residents a picture-perfect new neighborhood. Entrada Del Rio is the latest community in Rancho Sahuarita that opened earlier this year. Richmond American Homes and Meritage Homes acquired an aggregate of 128 SFR lots in October, for a total of $7.52 million.

Richmond American closed on 87 lots for $5.2 million ($59,669 per finished lot). This was the second acquisition for Richmond here that started with 42 SFR lots last year when the community was opening.  Lots are 45’ and 50’ wides.

Richmond’s new home offerings feature ranch and two-story plans engineered to maximize space and comfort with 9’ main floor ceilings, open layouts with center-meet patio doors, available lofts and tech centers per plan, and much more. Homes will range in size from approximately 1,810 – 2,630 sq. ft., 3-6 bedrooms and 2 to 3-car garages.

Meritage Homes recently joined the homebuilders at Entrada Del Rio and acquired 41 SFR lots for $2.33 million ($56,697 per lot). Lots are mostly 45’ wide.

Lennar Homes was the first builder to enter the market and continues building its 82 homes. This brings the total number of lots sold to date at Entrada Del Rio to 252 lots a community that will eventually comprise nearly 558 new homes planned to open in various phases.

Residents at Entrada Del Rio will find enjoyment and fun flowing through the nearby Parque Del Rio neighborhood amenity, complete with its own pool, spa, playground, sport courts and more. It’s also close to linear parks, the famous Safari Trail, and Butterfly Garden. Plus, Rancho Sahuarita’s two newest amenities, the Flamingo Splash Pad and Armed Forces Tribute, are both literally in the backyard of this neighborhood.

RADIOLOGY, Ltd. Plans to Build at I-10 & Cortaro Farms next to Micro Hospital

Tucson, Arizona – Radiology, Ltd. purchased 1.45 acres at Cortaro Ranch for construction of a new radiology imaging center for $634,100 ($10 PSF). Located at the northeast corner of I-10 and Cortaro Farms, the lot is approved for up to a 10,000-square-foot building that will be adjacent to Carondelet Micro Hospital.

Radiology, Ltd claims to be Tucson’s hometown radiology practice. This will be its 10th diagnostic center in metro Tucson area. Founded in 1933, Radiology, Ltd is owned and operated by its physicians, comprised of more the 35 subspecialized, fellowship-trained experts in body imaging, women’s imaging, interventional radiology, molecular imaging, musculoskeletal imaging and neuroradiology.

The company employs over 400 staff members in nine ACR-accredited, freestanding diagnostic centers, including two full-service women’s imaging centers.  It offers 24/7/365 coverage for two hospitals in southern Arizona.

EEGEE’s Coming to Houghton Town Center

TUCSON, ARIZONA — Eegee’s has purchased a 28,685-square-foot pad at 10158 East Old Vail Road at Houghton Town Center in the Vail area for $515,000 ($18 PSF).

In 1971, two enterprising oung men, Ed Irving and Bob Greenberg , pooled their resources and carefully cultivated their vending truck business into what is now a 24-location restaurant chain that specializes in, among other items, their signature frozen fruit drink. In the beginning, you might have met Ed or Bob serving their lemon eegee’s drink in front of high schools, at sporting events and concerts. And today you can still order the same lemon eegee’s that Bob and Ed first started selling in ’71. Fortunately, there are now more flavors to choose from (lemon can get old after 46 years) and you can order a sandwich or other baked goods to complement your eegee’s, but it’s essentially the same cup of brain-freezing fruit goodness that was served truck-side more than 40 years ago.

Eegee’s has grown significantly since its early days. Not only has the chain expanded to 25 locations (yes, this will be its 25th at Houghton Town Center), it paired this growth with a true commitment to social and environmental involvement. Since its inception, eegee’s has donated time, food and money to local charities as well as instituting the community recycling program Recycling for People First!

In 2006 the eegee’s restaurants changed hands from Ed Irving and Bob Greenberg to the O’Connor family (CEO Foods, Inc.), continuing the family-owned-and-operated tradition on which Eegee’s was founded.
