The Breast Center of Southern Arizona, PLLC leased 3,003 sq. ft. at Wilmot Professional Plaza, 6296 E. Grant Rd in Tucson. The premises will be used as a medical office specializing in women’s health and wellness. They are scheduled to open for business January 2014. Andy Seleznov and Melissa Lal represented the landlord, Larsen Baker, while Jordon Simon of Venture West Real Estate Services, LLC, represented the tenant.

OFFICE – 5225 E. KNIGHT DRIVE, TUCSON
Vision Research leased 2,280 sq. ft. space office at 5335 E. Knight Drive, Suite 101. The premises will be used as an office specializing in medical practice and research. They are scheduled to open for business in October 2013. Andy Seleznov and Melissa Lal represented the landlord, Larsen Baker, while Andy Courtney of Andy Courtney Properties, represented the tenant.

OFFICE – 124 W. CUSHING STREET, TUCSON
BizAnytime leased 1,876 sq. ft. at 124 W. Cushing St., Tucson. A software company, BizAnytime provides bundled, cloud-based services to make it easier to work remotely. The business is relocating from its office at 3561 E Sunrise, Ste. 105 in the Foothills. The space was found on Craig’s List and leased directly from the owner.

OFFICE – 5501 N. SWAN ROAD, TUCSON
Nizar Sukkar, dba, American Family Insurance, leased approx. 496 sq. ft. of office space located at 5501 N. Swan Rd., Suite 247, Tucson from DaVinci Plaza, LLC. Michael Gross and Douglas Richards of Tucson Realty & Trust Co., represented the Landlord in the transaction.

ICSC Conference ends well for Tucson -Two Big Box Tenants Lease 99,000 SF

Marana marketplace site planNews reported to us on the final day of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Western Division Conference in San Diego, is that two new Big Box retail stores are coming to Tucson.

Conn’s, Inc. (NASDAQ:CONN), a specialty retailer of home appliances, furniture, mattresses, consumer electronics and provider of consumer credit leased 40,000-square-feet at the Marana Marketplace, located at the southeast corner of Thornydale and River off I-10 in Marana. This will be its second location in Tucson, the first opened in December 2012 at 5530 E Broadway Blvd. in approximately 33,000-square-feet.

Conn’s is on a growing spurt this year, and announced plans last July to open 10-12 new locations this year. In Arizona, Conn’s already has stores in Mesa, Tempe, Phoenix and Tucson. An opening date for this store was undetermined.

7125 E BroadwayReliable sources tell us that Floor and Décor also leased 59,000-square-feet for their first Tucson location at 7125 E Broadway Blvd, at the northeast corner of Broadway and Kolb. Floor and Décor is an Atlanta-based company and a leading specialty retailer of hard surface flooring and accessories. Founded in 2000, Floor and Décor offers a broad selection of ceramic, stone, wood and laminate flooring to both individual consumers as well as contractors. Floor and Décor currently operates 25 stores in 15 U.S. markets as well as its online store at www.flooranddecor.com .

Public records indicate that Floor and Décor will handle the build out of converting the store façade from two entries into one and allow for better loading dock access in rear. Floor and Décor may be open as early as the end of this year.

Nancy McClure represented the tenant in this transaction while Bill Houghey, with ABC Broadway /Kolb Center, the landlord, handled the transaction for the landlord.

Robert Floyd, dba Bikram Yoga, has extended the lease of 2,815 sq. ft. at 6261 N. Oracle Rd. Suite 101 at the Oracle Village Plaza in Tucson.  Bikram’s stated mission is to ‘Create a friendly, healthy and safe environment that will encourage people at all ages, sizes, sexes and fitness levels to benefit from regular yoga practice in a state-of-the-art facility’. RETAIL – 190 S. Stratford Dr., suite 106, Tucson

Medicine of the People leased 1,764 sq. ft. at 190 S. Stratford Drive, Suite 106 in Tucson from Rich Rodgers Investment, Inc.  Medicine of the People offers herbal salves and creams, massage oils and tinctures made from native plants. INDUSTRIAL – 1321 W. Ajo Way, Tucson

Ajo Way, Suite 115, Tucson.  The space is located within the Ajo Business Center, a retail and industrial project at Ajo Way and Benson Highway. JJ’s Woodworking leased 1,500 sq. ft. at 8051 E. Lakeside Parkway in Tucson, at the Lakeside Business Center, from Tesoro Enterprises, Inc. for custom woodworking.  Gary Emerson of GRE Partners, LLC handled the transaction for the landlord.

Glass Illusions Studio leased 1,320 sq. ft. at 5827 N. Oracle Road in Tucson at Placita del Norte Shopping Center.  Glass Illusions is a premiere fused glass & metal art gallery. Sunrise Dr. in Tucson, located at the southeast corner of Sunrise and Kolb.  The tenant operates The Abbey restaurant is currently in a 2,700 sq. ft. adjacent end cap and will use the additional space to expand the restaurant. The Abbey is owned by restaurateur Brian Metzger and takes simple comfort foods and evolves them into palette-pleasing meals.  The interior is filled with bookshelves, cozy booths, a chalkboard overhead for specials, and a candle on every table.  David Hammack of Volk Company Commercial Real Estate in Tucson represented the landlord, Sunrise & Kolb East LLC.
