Phoenix, AZ – Michael Ortiz, Southwest Region market leader of Colliers International’s Technology Solutions Practice Group, is serving as the keynote speaker at CAPRATE’s Fourth Annual Southwest Data Center Summit at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel Nov. 10.
Ortiz, also an associate vice president with Colliers International in Greater Phoenix, is speaking at 8 a.m. Nov. 10 and will focus on the national and Southwest data center market in his “2015 State of the National Data Center Market” address.
“I’ll discuss why Arizona, and other core markets, are the fastest growing data center hubs in the country and this sector’s positive outlook for the 1H 2016 period,” Ortiz said. “The goal is provide an engaging, easy-to-understand format which brings together the complete perspective of the total cost of ownership and why not all markets are equal.”
The conference is expected to attract more than 400 of the nation’s leading data center real estate and technology infrastructure executives from Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco and the nation. An opening night reception and tour of IO’s data center in Phoenix will be held the evening prior on Nov. 9.
Ortiz, as part of the Colliers Technology Solutions practice team, collaborates with clients and fellow data center brokers across the global Colliers platform to identify, create and deliver mission critical infrastructure and data center-specific solutions to end users, developers and investors.
Ortiz has worked on both sides of the transaction with early-stage entities up to Fortune 1000 clients. He previously served as the senior asset manager for the Western region at Digital Realty Trust, the world’s largest colocation services and data center solutions provider.
In addition, he served as a senior member and executive founder of the Arizona Data Center Coalition, which proposed Bill S.B. 2009, signed by Gov. Brewer in July 2013. He collaborated with elected officials, Phoenix business leaders and key stakeholders to support a diverse incentive package benefiting the retail and wholesale markets, which has enabled Phoenix to become one of the lowest cost data center markets in the Western U.S.
