Courtesy Automotive Group Expands Tucson Presence with $29.5M Watson Chevrolet Acquisition

TUCSON, ARIZONA (Sept. 9, 2026) — Courtesy Automotive Group has expanded into Tucson with the acquisition of Watson Chevrolet and Infiniti of Tucson with the acquisition of Watson Chevrolet and Infiniti of Tucson, including a $29.5 million real estate transaction for the Watson Chevrolet dealership at 625 W. Auto Mall Drive.
Pinnacle Mergers & Acquisitions facilitated the sale of the two Tucson dealerships to Scott Gruwell, President and CEO of Courtesy Automotive Group. The dealership transaction closed August 31, 2026, with Watson Chevrolet becoming Courtesy Chevrolet of Tucson and Infiniti of Tucson becoming Courtesy Infiniti of Tucson.
Courtesy RE of Tucson LLC acquired the Watson Chevrolet and Infiniti property at 625 W. Auto Mall Drive, Tucson, AZ 85705, from Watson Chevrolet Inc. for $29.5 million. The real estate sale transaction was recorded September 1, 2026.
The Central Tucson property encompasses approximately 15.01 acres, or 653,880 square feet, within the Tucson Auto Mall. Improvements total approximately 113,339 square feet among eight buildings constructed in 1988. The purchase equates to approximately $260.28 per square foot of building area.
The transaction included the operating business and was identified as an owner user acquisition, indicating Courtesy will continue operating the property as an automobile dealership.
The dealership acquisition includes both Watson Chevrolet and Infiniti of Tucson. Pinnacle Mergers & Acquisitions Founder and CEO Bill Scrivner advised and facilitated the transaction.
Courtesy Automotive Group traces its roots to 1955, when Courtesy Chevrolet was founded in Phoenix. The family owned company grew from a single Chevrolet dealership into a multibrand automotive group with locations across Arizona and Southern California. Scott Gruwell, President and CEO, began his career at Courtesy Chevrolet as a retail salesperson working alongside his father and later helped expand the company into brands including Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Nissan, Kia, Volvo, Polestar and Isuzu Truck. The group marked its 70th anniversary in 2025.
The acquisitions significantly expand Courtesy Automotive Group’s presence into the Tucson market and establish the Courtesy name at two existing Tucson automobile dealerships.
