Four Promotions Announced at CBRE Phoenix

PHOENIX, Arizona — There were four promotions announced this week by CBRE Group in Phoenix. Bryce Terveen, Kevin Calihan, Davud Barrett and Rocco Mandela received promotions.

Kevin Calihan has been promoted to Executive Vice President with CBRE Advisory & Transaction Services in Phoenix. A member of the industry since 1997, Mr. Calihan has successfully managed the lease and sale of over 10 million square feet. Over his two-decade career of representing clients in lease and sale transactions, Mr. Calihan has become one of the most widely recognized authorities on the Phoenix office market.

Beyond leveraging his 20 years of experience to the benefit of his clients, Mr. Calihan regularly lends his expertise to local and national publications focusing on the real estate market in the Phoenix metro. Following his first NAIOP Arizona Office Broker of the Year win in 2003, he has gone on to win the award another eight times. In 2001, he earned CBRE’s “Rookie of the Year” award and has also been recognized as one of CBRE’s top producers for several consecutive years. Mr. Calihan received a degree in finance from the University of Arizona.

Bryce Terveen has been promoted to Senior Vice President with CBRE Advisory & Transaction Services. Terveen came to CBRE in 2005 following a six-year career as a professional baseball player with the Atlanta Braves and Seattle Mariners. As a member of CBRE’s Phoenix office, he specializes in tenant representation and strategically guides corporate occupiers through the process of leasing, buying or disposing of office space.

Working in tandem with his sales team, Mr. Terveen guides clients through integrated commercial real estate services including strategic planning, portfolio optimization and lease administration. Clients recognize the high degree of value-added service that he brings to the table thanks to his deep familiarity with the submarket and his ability to help companies control long-term occupancy costs. Mr. Terveen received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Pacific.

David Barrett has been promoted to First Vice President with CBRE Advisory & Transaction Services. In this role, Mr. Barrett will specialize in advising and representing Phoenix users of office and light industrial space with their real estate occupier needs and strategies. Since joining the commercial real estate industry 18 years ago, Mr. Barrett has represented companies in approximately 9 million square feet of transactions.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Barrett has served clients that include national leaders in the insurance, medical and financial advisory industries. He and his team assist with strategic planning, lease administration, project and transaction management and financial services. In 2008, he was recognized as CBRE’s “Rookie of the Year.” Mr. Barrett received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Arizona.

Rocco Mandala has been promoted to Vice Chairman with CBRE Capital Markets, Debt & Structured Finance, in Phoenix. Since joining CBRE in 1995, Mr. Mandala has become a perennial top-10 percent originator nationally for CBRE Capital Markets, completing debt and equity transactions in excess of $7 billion.  In 2016, Rocco was in the top-3% originator for all disciplines nationally.

Prior to working at CBRE, Mr. Mandala entered the real estate finance industry in 1984 as a producer for H.S. Pickrell Company and then Mellon Bank and Boston Mortgage Company. He has raised capital for a variety of property types, including multifamily, office, retail, industrial, condo-conversions, hotels, mobile home parks and self-storage, working with institutional lenders spanning life insurance companies, Agency Lenders (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA HUD), pension funds,  CMBS, opportunity funds and mezzanine lenders. Additionally, Mr. Mandala has extensive fee appraisal experience as a former Certified General Real Estate Appraiser in Arizona and in Massachusetts. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Arizona State University.
