Free crates, pet tags part of adoption deal at Pima Animal Care Center

PIMA COUNTY, (Oct. 11, 2024) – All pets are free to adopt through Oct. 15 during Pima Animal Care Centers Empty the Shelters campaign, sponsored by Bissell Pet Foundation.

In addition, the shelter is offering a free crate to anyone who adopts a dog that weighs 40-plus pounds from Oct. 11 to Oct. 13. In addition, PACC will also stay open late, until 6 p.m., on Oct. 12 to give adopters more time to get to the shelter.

The shelter currently has more than 500 dogs and 100 cats looking for homes, and the number of incoming pets exceeds the number of adopters.

PACC’s Director, Monica Dangler, noted that the shelter needs the community’s help finding homes for PACC pets and keeping and reuniting pets with their families.

“Our community truly can help Pima County pets on both sides of the equation,” said Dangler. “By helping lost pets get home, keeping an ID tag on your pet at all times, and helping to spread the word about what’s happening at PACC, you can help pets in need even if you can’t foster or adopt at this time.”

The shelter also offers all pet owners free customized pet ID tags, courtesy of Friends of Pima Animal Care Center.

PACC is located at 4000 N. Silverbell Road and is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from noon to 7 p.m., on Wednesday from 1:30 – 7 p.m., and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. PACC is active on Facebook and Instagram, where daily updates are posted about the shelter’s status, promotions, and adoptable pets.
