Geneticure Plans Tucson Laboratory, Begins Recruiting Following $1 Million Investment

TUCSON, Arizona (Oct. 23, 2026) — Geneticure is planning a new clinical laboratory in Tucson and recruiting operations staff following a $1 million investment from Scottsdale-based Xcellerant Ventures, advancing an expansion that will centralize the biotech company’s laboratory operations in Arizona.
The company, which has operations in Arizona and Minnesota, develops genetic tests designed to help physicians identify which high blood pressure treatments may work best for individual patients. The investment, announced October 21, will support its Arizona laboratory plans and commercialization efforts. prnewswire.com
“We are evaluating space and recruiting operations staff now, and we will share an opening date once a lease is finalized,” Geneticure CEO Scott Snyder told the Phoenix Business Journal.
Initially, the Tucson facility will handle sample accessioning, the process of receiving, identifying and recording patient samples before testing. Geneticure plans to add research and development capabilities at the location over time.
“With this move, all of Geneticure’s laboratory operations will be centralized in Arizona,” Snyder told the publication.
The expansion is expected to bring biotech employment to Tucson, although the company has not announced a hiring total, facility size or opening date. Geneticure intends to maintain a significant presence in the Minneapolis area while establishing its laboratory base in Southern Arizona.
The company already has ties to the University of Arizona. Its leadership includes co-founder Ryan Sprissler, an associate research professor at the university’s BIO5 Institute and an associate director at the Center for Advanced Molecular and Immunological Therapies.
Founded in 2012, Geneticure also is led by Snyder and his brother, Eric Snyder, a former Mayo Clinic fellow whose background includes cardiovascular diseases, nephrology and hypertension.
Geneticure’s technology uses cheek-swab samples to analyze genetic factors associated with treatment response. Alongside a commercial test that helps guide hypertension medication choices, the company is developing testing intended to predict response to renal denervation, a procedure used to treat high blood pressure.
The new funding will support further clinical validation, reimbursement planning and preparation for commercialization ahead of a planned Series A financing round, according to the investment announcement.
Geneticure has raised $7.3 million to date, including the latest investment.
For Tucson, the planned laboratory represents an opportunity to translate locally connected scientific expertise into commercial activity, laboratory space demand and employment. Its longer-term research plans could deepen that presence as the company expands.
