Historic T&T Market sold for $275,000

TUCSON, ARIZONA — The Historic T&T Market sold for $275,000 ($55 PSF).

The 5,000-square-foot market (built 1960) closed on July 31. Kenyon and Terry Gee, joint owners of the market closed after nearly 75 years — three generations — of the family’s ownership of the neighborhood store at 2048 S. Sixth Ave. in South Tucson. The South Tucson neighborhood market, is located on 6th Avenue south of 29nd St.

Since 1942 the T&T Market has been the focal point for South Tucson’s neighbors providing a central meeting place along with their custom-cut meats and a wide variety of grocery and beverage products. The Gee family had been the original owners and the market was one of the last estimated 300 Chinese-owned markets that served Tucson neighborhoods before the turn of the 20th Century.

The Gee family felt that the time had come for the T&T Market to take on a new modern and revitalized purpose when they made the difficult decision to put the market for sale. The transaction closed on September 15, 2020
