Hunter Contracting Co. welcomes Shane Banks, P.E. as Director of Water/Wastewater

GILBERT, Ariz. (July 28, 2026) – Hunter Contracting Co. (Hunter) is pleased to announce the addition of Shane Banks, P.E., as Director of Water and Wastewater. With more than 30 years of experience in civil construction and water infrastructure, Banks will lead the continued growth of Hunter’s Water and Wastewater Group throughout Arizona.

Banks has built his career delivering complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects for municipalities and private clients across the country. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions with Alberici Constructors, McCarthy Building Companies, Sundt Construction, and PCL Construction, leading projects ranging from pump stations and treatment facilities to large-scale municipal infrastructure programs.

As a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in Arizona, Banks has led multidisciplinary teams on complex projects valued at more than $535 million. His background in engineering, preconstruction, operations, and project delivery positions him to support Hunter’s continued growth in the municipal water market.

Banks will focus on expanding Hunter’s presence in the municipal and private water markets, strengthening client relationships, mentoring future leaders, and delivering complex infrastructure projects safely, efficiently, and collaboratively.

Banks served for 21 years in the Arizona Army National Guard, retiring as a First Sergeant after multiple overseas deployments. His military service helped shape the leadership and teamwork he brings to every project.

Banks earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Purdue University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Arizona. His graduate research focused on Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery for water and wastewater projects.

Banks enjoys spending time with his wife, Stacie, and their family. He also enjoys traveling, hiking, music, and golf.
