PIMA COUNTY -- Candidates to fill a vacancy among Pima County Constables will introduce themselves to the public Thursday, May 9th during a forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson at the Murphy-Wilmot Library, 530 N. Wilmot Rd. in Tucson.

The session begins at 6 p.m.

Three people applied to replace retired Precinct 8 Constable Mary C. Dorgan:

· Donald P. Erickson
· Kristen A. Landrum
· Jeremey Lasher

The Pima County Board of Supervisors will appoint Dorgan's replacement at their May 21 meeting. The individual appointed will serve the remainder of Dorgan's term, through 2020, when the constable will need to seek a new term.

Pima County Constables serve civil and criminal papers of the Pima Justice Court, Pima County agencies and departments, and papers received from out-of-area courts equivalent to Justice Court. Constables are elected peace officers of the County and their respective judicial precincts as well as the executive officer of their justice precincts.

Justice Precinct 8 covers parts of midtown Tucson and the city's north side, roughly Fort Lowell Road to Broadway Boulevard and Tucson Boulevard to Wilmot Road.
