Library Roundup: Author Talk, Game Day, and Local Music Submissions on Tap in April

TUCSON, AZ (April 16, 2026) — Pima County Public Library is offering a mix of literary, family-friendly, and local music programming this April, with events scheduled in Oro Valley and downtown Tucson, along with a call for submissions from Pima County musicians.
Author Talk with Jill Beissel – April 13
Oro Valley native Jill Beissel will discuss her novel Glitter and Gold on Monday, April 13, from 10 to 11:15 a.m. at the Oro Valley Public Library, 1305 W. Naranja Dr. The event will include a reading, a conversation, an audience Q&A, and a book signing.
National Board Game Day at Main Library – April 22
Joel D. Valdez Main Library, 101 N. Stone Ave., will host National Board Game Day on Wednesday, April 22, from 2 to 5 p.m. Games for all ages and skill levels will be set up throughout the library, including a life-size Candyland activity. Participants can collect passport stamps at each station and earn a prize.
Desert Streams Accepting Submissions
The library is also accepting submissions for its Fall 2026 Desert Streams collection, which highlights music by Pima County musicians. Up to 25 albums or EPs will be selected. Eligible artists must have produced music within the past five years and be living and performing in Pima County.
