Giving Tuesday: Stories from Shelter Pets

TUCSON, ARIZONA – Each and every pet that comes through the doors at HSSA has a unique story to tell. As Giving Tuesday, the global day of generosity, quickly approaches, we wish to share the unique and touching tales a handful of our shelter pets have experienced thanks to the support of local donors.

Included in these stories is Barb, a young Shar Pei who came to HSSA severely irritated and hairless. As her treatments progressed, she regained not only her gorgeous coat of fur, but also her energetic spirit. Barb has made a complete recovery, and she is currently on our adoption floor awaiting her forever home.

Some pets have overcome their traumas and found their forever home. Malakai is a brave cat who came through our doors with severe injuries sustained from being hit by a car. The pelvic fracture which resulted was incredibly painful, but after a hip surgery and physical therapy treatments, his pain was alleviated and he regained full mobility in his hip. It wasn’t long before someone fell in love with him and brought him home for good.

Marcus & Millichap Facilitates the Sale of a Concept at 43rd Ave, a 52-Unit Apartment Property

GLENDALE, Arizona – Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), a leading commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in investment sales, financing, research and advisory services, announced today the sale of Concept at 43rd Ave, a 52-unit apartment property located in Glendale, Arizona.

According to Ryan Sarbinoff, regional manager of the firm’s Phoenix office, the asset sold for $9,750,000 ($73,864 per unit).

“Located in east Glendale, Concept at 43rd Ave is well-positioned to provide easy access to historic Glendale, Interstate-17 and Grand Canyon University,” shared Darrell Moffit, senior vice president investments in Marcus & Millichap’s Phoenix office. “The community offers large two-bedroom units, two-car garages, washer/dryers and patios. New ownership will have the opportunity to execute a programmatic renovation of unit interiors to experience a favorable premium.”

Moffitt and Paul Bay, first vice president in the firm’s Phoenix office, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a private investor. The buyer, a private investor, was procured by Moffitt and Bay.

Concept at 43rd Ave consists of 52 two-bedroom/one-bath townhomes, part of 132-unit HOA. Built in 1983, the courtyard-style community features a large interior amenity space and includes a pool. The asset is located at 7464 North 43rd Avenue in Glendale, Arizona.

BOMA Greater Phoenix names leadership, board for 2022; Melissa Scott with Sunbelt Holdings elected president

PHOENIX, ARIZONA— BOMA Greater Phoenix, the industry group that advances the commercial real estate industry through advocacy, influence, and knowledge, elected its 2022 officers and board members.

Melissa Scott, CMCA, AMS, RPA, with Sunbelt Holdings, was elected President. She is joined by Vice President Kathryn Rhinehart, CMP, RPA, LEED Green Associate, with Davis Southwest; Secretary/Treasurer Lynn Nixon, ENV SP, RPA, FMA, with KMEA; and Allied Chair Mike Caratachea, with Titan Restoration.

“I am excited to continue to support BOMA Greater Phoenix as President for 2022. BOMA has been pivotal in my growth in commercial real estate, and I look forward to continuing to grow this amazing organization,” Scott said.
