Tucson, Ariz (October 17, 2025)  — The University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) is proud to announce that Executive Director, Casey Carrillo, has been appointed to the Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

Carrillo has long been committed to driving innovation across Southern Arizona. Her dedication is evident through her previous roles at the University of Arizona’s McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship within the Eller College of Management and the Office of Digital Learning. In her current leadership role at UACI, Carrillo continues to build strong regional partnerships and foster the growth of scalable science and tech startups that fuel Arizona’s economy.

The Oro Valley Chamber has been an impactful partner for UACI’s mission. Multiple Sponsored Launch programs with the chamber have provided support and sponsorships for science and tech startups based in the region. Additionally, since its opening in 2020, the UACI at Oro Valley outpost has proved to be a vital innovation hub for the community with offices, collaboration spaces, and a shared biotech laboratory.

TUCSON, AZ (October 16, 2025) — Basileus Capital, LLC has purchased a 5,867-square-foot South Tucson industrial building located at 3231 E. 46th Street in Tucson for $650,000 ($111 PSF). The property was sold by Xtremeone, LLC.  Paul Hooker, SIOR, Principal and Industrial Specialist with Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR, represented the seller, while Susan McCall of Commercial Property Connect, LLC, represented the buyer.

The freestanding building is situated in Tucson’s South Industrial submarket, an area known for its proximity to I-10, Tucson International Airport, and major distribution corridors along Palo Verde and Irvington Roads. The property offers flexible warehouse and office space, multiple grade-level doors, and secure fenced yard storage — features ideal for light industrial, service, or logistics-oriented users.

The sale underscores continued interest from private investors and owner-users seeking smaller, well-located industrial assets in a tightening market characterized by low vacancy rates and steady rental growth. South Tucson’s industrial corridor has seen increased absorption in 2025 as businesses expand operations to serve the growing manufacturing, construction, and logistics sectors tied to regional supply chain growth.

According to Hooker, the property’s functionality and access made it an appealing acquisition for Basileus Capital, which plans to reposition the building for specialized industrial use.

“Demand remains strong for small to mid-sized industrial buildings under 10,000 square feet,” Hooker said. “These properties rarely stay on the market long, particularly in central locations with easy freeway access.”

TEMPE, ARIZ. (October 16, 2025) ‒ The IFMA Greater Phoenix Chapter is proud to announce a double victory at the 2025 Awards of Excellence, held during IFMA’s 45th annual World Workplace Conference and Expo in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The chapter was honored with the prestigious Large Chapter of the Year award, and the Greater Phoenix Student Chapter of IFMA at Arizona State University earned the title of Student Chapter of the Year.

These accolades reflect the chapter’s unwavering commitment to advancing the facility management profession and fostering a vibrant, inclusive community of FM professionals and students.

Leading the charge was Immediate Past President Monisa Manju Nagarajan Gomathi, CFM, FMP, SFP, FMG, whose visionary leadership and infectious ambition energized the board and inspired a wave of impactful initiatives. Her legacy continues to shine through the chapter’s dynamic committees and member-driven programs.

“As the IFMA Greater Phoenix Chapter celebrates its 40th anniversary, this milestone is a moment of pride and gratitude. The chapter also plans to spotlight the incredible facilities across Metro Phoenix through engaging campaigns and educational events.

The Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding contributions to IFMA and the facility management industry across 18 categories. Winners were selected by panels of industry experts who evaluated nominees based on category-specific criteria, innovation, and impact.
