The RWRD Water Campus and West Center.

PIMA COUNTY, (March 10, 2025) – The Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department (RWRD) is holding a series of public meetings during the month of March to discuss proposed sewer fee increases.

These hearings will ensure that residents can review the proposed increases and provide their input.

The first one was held March 7th

The schedule for upcoming meetings is as follows:

  • Wednesday, March 12, 5-6 p.m.
Water Campus, 2955 Calle Agua Nueva
  • Thursday, March 27, 8-9 a.m.
Abrams Public Health Center, 3950 S. Country Club Road

The Pima County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the rate increases at its June 17, 2025, meeting. The final versions of the proposed increases will be available to the public for review on Pima County’s website prior to the meeting.

The fees are part of an annual financial plan prepared by RWRD along with the Pima County Finance and Risk Management Department to address the department’s financial needs for the current fiscal year and the following four fiscal years.

The plan was reviewed by the Regional Wastewater Reclamation Advisory Committee, which reviews and makes recommendations on policies and procedures for RWRD. The committee voted to support the plan and its recommendations at their Jan. 23 meeting.

“It is remarkable that we have gone eight years without the need for a rate increase,” said RWRD director Jackson Jenkins. “This reflects our values as a department; we take pride in managing available funds and resources as efficiently as possible, with the goal of providing the best possible service to our customers.”

For more information about the proposed rate increases, please see County Administrator Jan Lesher's Feb. 14, 2025, memo.
