Pima Procurement Department achieves national accreditation
PIMA COUNTY, ARIZONA — The Pima County Procurement Department continues to collect accolades for excellence, most recently receiving the Institute for Public Procurement’s Outstanding Agency Accreditation Achievement award.
Pima County Procurement demonstrated high standards and best practices during the rigorous accreditation process, which takes place every three years.
It’s the fifth consecutive time the department has received the award since 2005. While NIGP represents over 3,000 governmental agencies across the United States and Canada, Pima County Procurement is one of just 144 agencies ever to have attained that distinction and one of only five agencies statewide to hold an active accreditation.
“This award brings credibility and formal recognition of our staff’s excellent work in all aspects of public procurement practice and their commitment to continuous improvement on behalf of the citizens of Pima County,” Procurement Director Mary Jo Furphy said.
It’s the second national award this year for the department. Back in July, the National Procurement Institute recognized Pima Procurement Department with the 2017 Achievement in Excellence in Procurement Award.
