Public invited to attend open houses to review and provide input on draft 20-year RTA plan
TUCSON, AZ (November 5, 2024) — The Regional Transportation Authority will host a series of open houses for the public to review and provide input on a $2.46 billion, 20-year draft plan for regional transportation improvements.
The Regional Transportation Authority is an independent taxing district within Pima County that oversees the implementation of a 20-year, voter-approved regional transportation plan. The plan is funded by a half-cent excise (sales) tax, which was also approved by Pima County voters in 2006. The RTA’s mission is to deliver multimodal transportation projects that improve our region’s mobility, safety, environment, and economic vitality. The RTA has delivered over $1.58 billion in improvements and services as promised.
The draft plan, which the RTA Board approved for public input on Sept. 26, includes regional transportation network improvements for transit; safety, ADA, and active transportation; arterial reconstruction; environmental; and roadway corridor projects.
Open houses are scheduled for November and December across the Tucson metro region.*
