TUCSON, AZ. (Oct. 14, 2026) — The Rio Nuevo District announced the appointments of George H. “Hank” Amos III and Kameron “Kam” Norwood to its Board of Directors, bringing decades of combined experience in commercial real estate, business development and community leadership to the district. Both will begin their board roles effective immediately, attending the meeting on October 13.

Amos was appointed by the speaker of the Arizona house of representatives, while Norwood was appointed by the president of the Arizona senate. Their appointments bring additional private-sector expertise to the board as Rio Nuevo continues its efforts to attract investment, support local businesses and advance economic development in Tucson.

Amos, a fourth-generation Tucsonan, serves as chairman and CEO of Tucson Realty & Trust Co., Arizona’s oldest real estate company, specializing in commercial brokerage and property management. He is a 1981 graduate of the University of Arizona with degrees in finance and real estate and has extensive experience in business leadership, real estate investment, and public service.

His previous leadership positions include serving on the Arizona Board of Regents from 1994 to 2002, including as president in 2000, and on the Greater Tucson Economic Council. Amos has also served on numerous civic and nonprofit boards, including the Pima County Real Estate Research Council, Carondelet St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation and the Tucson Unified School District Business Advisory Council.

Norwood, a Tucson native and University of Arizona graduate, joined Cushman & Wakefield | PICOR in 2023, bringing a background in entrepreneurship, business operations and commercial real estate. Before entering the real estate industry, Norwood spent eight years in technical staffing before launching several business ventures, including Packdash, a third-party logistics company he co-founded and helped grow into a $2 million enterprise before its sale in 2023.

Norwood currently serves on the boards of the Tucson Metro Chamber of Commerce and Desert Sage High School. He is also a recipient of the Google Black Founder Award, recognizing his entrepreneurial achievements.

“Both Hank and Kam bring valuable perspectives and extensive experience,” said Fletcher McCusker, chair of the Rio Nuevo Board of Directors. “As Rio Nuevo continues to pursue new development opportunities and strengthen downtown Tucson’s economic vitality, their expertise will be instrumental in contributions to the region’s economic development. We are grateful for their willingness to serve our community.”

Rio Nuevo District’s board members are appointed by the Arizona governor, the state senate president and the speaker of the house. Members serve at the pleasure of their respective appointing authorities, with no fixed term limits.
