Southwest Airlines Adds Twice-Daily Service Between Phoenix and Tucson

Southwest AirlinesTUCSON, Ariz. (August 15, 2025) – Southwest Airlines will launch twice-daily nonstop flights between Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) beginning March 5, 2026, marking the carrier’s latest investment in Southern Arizona air service.

The new route will provide convenient same-day travel options for business, leisure, and connecting passengers, linking two of Arizona’s largest metro areas with seamless access to Southwest’s extensive network through its Phoenix hub.

According to Southwest Airlines, the schedule will feature morning and evening departures in each direction, designed to accommodate day trips for business travelers as well as flexible options for leisure passengers. Connections through Phoenix will offer Tucson travelers one-stop access to dozens of destinations nationwide.

Danette Bewley, President and CEO of the Tucson Airport Authority, welcomed the announcement, noting the broader economic impact:

“This new service not only improves connectivity between Tucson and Phoenix, but it also strengthens our region’s ability to attract conventions, corporate meetings, and tourism. Enhanced air service is a key driver of economic development, and we are thrilled to see Southwest expanding in our market.”

The Phoenix–Tucson flights will join Southwest’s existing Tucson service, which includes nonstop routes to Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas Love Field, San Diego, and other key markets.

Southwest Airlines’ New Phoenix–Tucson Schedule (Effective March 5, 2026):

  • TUS → PHX: Morning and evening departures
  • PHX → TUS: Morning and evening departures
