Attesa Projected to Employ More than 6,000 Casa Grande, Maricopa Residents

CHANDLER, ARIZONA — Approximately 61% of the future Attesa employees will reside in Pinal County, according to updated projections from an Economic Impact Study prepared by Elliott D. Pollack & Company. Casa Grande is projected to benefit most from incremental local economic activity associated with nearly 5,000 Attesa employees. Maricopa, the county’s second largest city, is projected as the home of nearly 1,600 Attesa employees upon buildout.

Attesa, a $1.1 billion project, will initially recruit over 8,000 workers in the construction and building industry as it produces two racing circuits, a 300-room hotel and 20,000 sq. ft. conference center, driving club, multi-use venue, waste water treatment plant and solar canopied plaza.  Post grand opening, workers will be needed for ongoing home and commercial building, new on-site high tech and motorsports/transportation design companies, retail and hospitality partners, air park businesses, maintenance, security and more.

Tim Kanavel, Director of Economic Development for Pinal County, said, “It will start with construction and then go from there.  Jobs are going to be created, ongoing, and most of those people will live in Casa Grande, Maricopa, Eloy and Coolidge.  The influx of new visitors and residents will create more jobs at restaurants, retailers and other consumer companies. Attesa is going to bring a lot of jobs and new residents.  We’re glad Attesa chose Pinal County as their home.”

“We’re essentially going to build a mini-city,” said Dan Erickson, Member/Manager of Danrick Builders, the company developing Attesa.  “We’re going to welcome tech companies who need to research, develop and test, and people who have a passion for performance cars and driving them at speed, and guests who want to be entertained with uncompromised customer service.  To provide the best experience possible, in all those areas, we’re going to need people.  And most of them will be local, within the County.”

In addition to those jobs projected for residents of Casa Grande and Maricopa, the report indicates that Attesa will provide employment opportunities for residents of Coolidge (313 estimated jobs), San Tan Valley (over 200 jobs), Arizona City (200 jobs), Florence (160 jobs) and Apache Junction (almost 100 jobs).

Attesa anticipates over 15,000 direct and indirect jobs upon buildout. From groundbreaking, scheduled for first quarter 2018, through Attesa’s subsequent industrial, retail and tourist attraction partner growth, the world’s first motorsports, technology and entertainment community is going to need a wide variety of workers.

“Our partners who test and build and do business at Attesa are going to need workers, that’s for sure,” said Pat Johnson, President of Danrick Builders.  “But so will Phoenix Mart, Lucid Motors, DreamPort Village and every other new development planned for Pinal County. And as we develop our 2,500-acre community, and as the other new companies start up and grow, Casa Grande, Maricopa and the rest of the cities in Pinal County had better be ready.”

Attesa is working with state universities, community colleges and vocational schools toward making sure the employees of tomorrow can receive the training and education they’re going to need today.

“We’re already collaborating with Arizona at Work and Central Arizona College,” added Kanavel.  “We understand what the future holds and we’re darn well going to be prepared.”

Attesa is presently undergoing the entitlement process in Pinal County.

Motorsports Destination Tracks to be Designed by Apex Circuit Design

CASA GRANDE, AZ – Danrick Builders of Chandler announced it is developing Attesa, a 2,360-acre recreational motorsports destination in Pinal County that will create a global magnet for entertainment and an economic engine for the region.  The development will promote thought leadership for transportation design innovation, and educational partnerships with universities conducting automotive research and development.

Attesa will have two separate 2.8-mile road courses, a karting track, a driver experience center and a multi-surface racing and event area. A private airport with a 6,000-foot-long runway will enable patrons to fly in and out conveniently. Attesa also will include residential, industrial, and commercial uses.

“Attesa will be an optimal racing entertainment destination that will draw guests from all over the world, driving new jobs and contributing taxes to local economies,” said Dan Erickson, principal of Danrick Builders. “Our model is incomparable to any other development in the United States. We’ll combine speed, luxury experiences and motorsports opportunities for individuals from all walks of life.”

Designed by renowned London-based race track engineering firm Apex Circuit Design, Attesa’s two, full-size race tracks will meet international FIA and FIM certifications, offering first-rate motorsports and performance driving experiences. All major sports car, stock car, IndyCar and motorcycle series plus club racing will be eligible to race at Attesa. The karting circuit will be built to FIA/CIK specifications.

“Arizona already has the West’s best NASCAR track,” added Erickson, referring to Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale.  “By adding Attesa, Arizona will become an international racing destination.”

A sustained tourist attraction, Attesa will create long-term jobs for the region, drawing from talent generated by Arizona State University, the University of Arizona and the state’s community colleges. Elliott Pollack of Scottsdale conducted a Market Analysis that affirms the demand for this world-class development in Pinal County.

With close proximity to I-8 and 1-10, Attesa is located less than six miles southwest of downtown Casa Grande, within an hour of major airports in Phoenix and Tucson.

“This project represents an amazing opportunity for the city, county and state. It’s so much more than a race track. It’s a diversified project,” said Richard Wilkie, Casa Grande economic development manager. “It will make the area a destination for recreation, industry and high-paying jobs. Attesa is a catalyst for development in the corridor.”

A private club and residential community will draw the affluent to Pinal County throughout the year. The resort and conference center will further inject tourism dollars into the local economy.

Attesa is being developed with sustainable and advanced technologies including smart and energy efficient features throughout. Development and management practices will mitigate sound and traffic impacts to the surrounding areas.

“Integrity is Danrick Builders’ top priority,” said Pat Johnson, principal of Danrick Builders. “We are developing an entertainment destination that will be responsible to the environment and community.”

Danrick Builders recently filed an entitlement application in Pinal County and has met with city, county, state and federal officials as well as immediate area neighbors to discuss and approve the development. The company expects to break ground in 2017.

“We are 100 percent behind this project. The Attesa community will be a complement to the nearby Nissan and Volkswagen test tracks. We are creating the center of automotive excellence in Arizona and that will be right here in Pinal County,” said Tim Kanavel, Pinal County economic development program manager. “Attesa will be a huge benefit to our existing tourism industry, furthering Pinal County’s desire to be a destination county.”

Local esteemed partners including Snell & Wilmer of Phoenix, Elliott D. Pollack and Co. of Scottsdale, Future Cities of Phoenix, and HilgartWilson of Phoenix are collaborating with Danrick Builders on the development. Frost Motorsports and Hunden Strategic Partners of Chicago are providing extensive motorsports market research.
