Starbucks Campbell Corridor Grand Opening is a Big Deal for Tucson Neighborhood

Starbucks Opens at 2807 N Campbell Ave, Tucson, AZ

TUCSON, ARIZONA – Starbucks at 2807 N Campbell, the northwest corner of Campbell & Glenn, celebrated its grand opening Thursday.

The opening was a special occasion for Developer / Landlord, Jason Wong, CCIM, of Crestline Properties who invited City staff, contractors, architects, engineers, and friends involved in the project to stop by for coffee. Wong purchased this corner lot along the growing Campbell Corridor in February 2015 when it was still a Tokyo Rice Bowl to be razed and property rezoned. Construction of the 2,500-square-foot Starbucks with 300-square-feet of patio was able to begin in November 2017.

Attending the opening celebration was Tucson Ward 3 Council Member, Paul Durham; Kevin Morrissey, owner of MW Morrissey Construction and Construction supervisor, Dave Mathis. John Wood, President of Presidio Engineering and Tanya Washington, office manager; along with Ray Quintero, project manager with Onyx Creative, the architect for the project were all there.

“We tried to capture the energy along Campbell Avenue and incorporate it with the breathtaking views of the Catalina Mountains; working closely with the tenant and the professional team, we think we achieved what we set out to do and are very pleased with the end result,” said Wong. “Today’s customer wants a retail environment that’s experience-driven, entertaining, and interactive, Campbell Corridor has all that to offer. Starbucks is an ideal fit for the neighborhood. We’re delighted to welcome them.”

“I’m excited about infill projects like this in Ward 3 that bring jobs and sales tax revenue to the city,” said Council Member Durham. “With downtown booming and projects like the new Geico headquarters at The Bridges and Speedway Campbell Gateway in the pipeline, it’s a great time to do business in Tucson.”

Council Member Durham arrived at the opening by bicycle and received the distinguished honor of being the first to use the custom designed bike racks, one shaped like a coffee mug and the other a coffee press that welcome everyone in front of building.

Bre Downing, the Starbucks’ manager for this store said, “I’m excited about the community and all the businesses in the area, and what Starbucks brings.” Downing told us she has been with Starbucks for 10 years and also teaches yoga at Yoga Oasis nearby on Campbell Ave.   She managed the Broadway & Campbell store prior to this one.

“We are proud to celebrate the great addition of Starbucks to the Campbell Corridor,” said Jason Wong. “These infill development projects are important to the economic progress of our community as they create jobs in the neighborhood.” This store location will have 29 employees.

Attendees enjoyed free coffee, compliments of the landlord, and free samples of Starbucks Strawberry Frappuccino blended beverages and Mango Dragonfruit drinks.

Starbucks at Campbell and Glenn is now open from 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. seven days per week.
