The following leases were reported to the Real Estate Daily News during the week of December 8-12, 2014 for the Phoenix Lease Report:

RETAIL – NEC FLORENCE & I-10, CASA Grande, AZ.
Velocity Retail Group’s Darren Pitts and Michael Clark represented tenant Mattress Firm in the lease of 4,000-square-feet at the northeast corner of Florence and the I-10 in Casa Grande, AZ. The new location is one of many new stores Mattress Firm plans to open throughout the Arizona market in 2015. The landlord, Evergreen Devco was represented by Mark Bramlett of Cassidy Turley.

RETAIL – 9617 N. METRO PKWY. W., PHOENIX, AZ.
Representing Paradise Bakery/Panera Bread, Velocity Retail Group brokered the 10-year lease of 4,000-square-feet at Metro Towne Center on the southwest corner of Peoria Road and 28th Avenue in Phoenix, AZ. The landlord, A & C Properties, was represented by Torrey Briegel of Phoenix Commercial Advisors.

RETAIL – 1290 N. COTTSDALE RD, TEMPE, AZ.
A lease for 2,236-square-feet at 1290 N. Scottsdale Road in Tempe, AZ to Beauty Lounge was recently consummated. The owner of the center is Rio Salado Center, LLC. Jared Lively of Rein & Grossoehme represented the Tenant and the Landlord on this transaction.

RETAIL – SEC WARNER ROAD & 48th STREET, PHOENIZ, AZ
Andy Kroot of Velocity Retail represented Goodwill Industries of Central Arizona in leasing 2,200-square-feet at the southeast corner of Warner Road and 48th Street in Phoenix, AZ. The landlord was represented by Jennifer Eggert of Zell Commercial Real Estate. The new location will be a donation center.

RETAIL – 7333 W. THOMAS RD., PHOENIX, AZ.
Judi Butterworth of Velocity Retail Group and Paul Serafin of De Rito Partners represented the landlord at Desert Sky Festival, on the southeast corner of Thomas Road and 75th Avenue in Phoenix, AZ, in the lease of 1,740-square-feet to Liberty Tax Service.

RETAIL – 1290 N. COTTSDALE RD, TEMPE, AZ.
A lease for 1,384-square feet-at 1290 N. Scottsdale Road in Tempe, AZ to SUPaz Paddleboards was recently consummated. The owner of the center is Rio Salado Center, LLC. Jared Lively of Rein & Grossoehme represented Landlord and Ian Toner of Vinson Realty represented the Tenant on this transaction.

OFFICE – N / NWC BASELINE ROAD & RURAL ROAD, PHOENIX, AZ.
Larry Miller and John Jackson of Velocity Retail Group represented Edward Jones Investments in the lease of 1,134-square-feet north of the northwest corner of Baseline Road and Rural Road in Phoenix, AZ. The landlord, Rural Court, LLC was represented by Michael Waxman of LevRose.

OFFICE – 4000 N. 7th St., Phoenix, AZ.
A lease for 1,070-square-feet in Plaza 4000 to Skin Care by Laura was recently consummated. The location of the property is 4000 N. 7th Street in Phoenix, AZ. Richard Mackay of Rein & Grossoehme represented the owner and the tenant. [mepr-show rules=”58038″]$11.45 SF/YR NNN[/mepr-show]

RETAIL – SWC BASELINE RD & GILBERT RD., GILBERT, AZ.
Velocity Retailer’s Brian Gast represented the landlord, Desert Troon Companies in a 5-year lease of 901-square-feet at the southwest corner of Baseline Road and Gilbert Road in Gilbert, AZ to Luis Fernando Rodriguez. Rodriguez plans to yet-to-be-named Barber Shop at the new location.




Potbelly Sandwich Shop Opens First Tucson Location Tuesday

Potbelly 1Potbelly Sandwich Shop will hold its official grand opening of its first location in Tucson, Tuesday, June 3rd, 5545 E. Broadway Boulevard, #103 in Tucson, in the recently-renovated and now 100% leased center anchored by Hobby Lobby and Stein Mart at the northeast corner of Broadway & Craycroft.

Nancy McClure, First Vice-President of CBRE in Tucson handled the 100% lease-up for the landlord. Zach Pace of Phoenix Commercial Advisors represented Potbelly in this transaction.

Photos shown were taken Monday at the company’s invitation-only “soft opening”.  McClure told us, she thinks the place looks great. “They had a fleet of people behind the counter and the crowd flowed well with a line that started out the door,” said McClure.

Potbelly 2Potbelly Sandwich Shops have their humble beginnings from an antique store, long before the sandwiches were toasted and cookies were on straws. There was a young couple who owned an antique shop on Lincoln Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. This quirky shop of memories was doing well, but the determined couple knew they could always do better.

They decided to start serving lunch to their curious, collecting customers. As time passed the “little antique shop that could” was slowly turning into quite the lunchtime getaway, complete with toasty warm sandwiches, homemade desserts and even live music.

Then in 1996, an ambitious, entrepreneurial young man named Bryant Keil bought the original store in Chicago, Illinois. Together with his team, Bryant set out to spread the Potbelly love across the country, creating shops with the same neighborhood feel as the original.

Today, the magic continues with more than 280 Potbelly Sandwich Shops in neighborhoods around the country.

In addition to the Broadway location, a second Potbelly Sandwich Shop will open soon at 1031 N Park Avenue, south of Speedway on Park in Tucson.

Chris Gerow, Shelby Tworek, and Gabe Ortega of NAI Horizon represented the tenant, Six Fingers, LLC, in a 10 year retail lease transaction for a 7,800 SF space at 9397 East Shea Boulevard in Scottsdale, AZ. Zach Pace with Phoenix Commercial Advisors represented the landlord, 94 Hundred Shea, LLLP.

Chris Gerow, Shelby Tworek, and Gabe Ortega of NAI Horizon represented the tenant, Ziegler’s NYPD, LLC, in a 10 year retail lease transaction for a 2,746 SF space at 222 South Mill Avenue in Tempe, AZ. Summer Jackson with Cushman & Wakefield of Arizona, Inc. represented the landlord, PKY 222 S. Mill, LLC.

Isy Sonabend of NAI Horizon represented the tenant, Finishmaster, Inc., in a 7 year industrial lease renewal for a 12,520 SF space at 3033 North 35th Avenue in Phoenix, AZ. The landlord was Arizona Industrial Properties.

Laurel Lewis of NAI Horizon represented both the landlord, HB Foothills Gateway, LLC, and the tenant, PCB Group Sales Company, Inc., in a 39 month office lease transaction for a 1,742 SF space at 4505 East Chandler Boulevard, Chandler, AZ.

A lease for 1,583 square feet in Kings Inn Retail Center to Mr. D’s Salon was recently consummated.  The location of the property is 10659 W Grand Ave., Sun City, AZ .  The owner of the center is Kings Inn of Sun City, LLC.  Jared Lively of Rein & Grossoehme Commercial Real Estate represented the owner and the tenant.

A lease for 998 sq. ft. in Greenway Village Square to Holistic Healthcare was recently consummated. The location of the property is 3361 W. Greenway Rd., Phoenix, AZ. The owner of the center is Southwestern Holdings, LLC. Jared lively of Rein & Grossoehme Commercial Real Estate represented the owner.

A lease for 2,995 square feet at 19209 N. 83rd Ave in Peoria, AZ to DA8 Training was recently consummated.  The location of the property is on 83rd Ave just north of Union Hills.  The owner of the center is Mohr Property, LLC.  Jared Lively of Rein & Grossoehme Commercial Real Estate represented the owner and the tenant.
