The Interstate 10/Ina Road Traffic Interchange project in Marana just north of Tucson continues its first phase of construction, with work scheduled to last through early 2017. The work includes constructing a detour for traffic to use when the Ina Road traffic interchange closes, building temporary construction easements and major utility work. During this phase, Ina Road will remain open.

Interstate 10

  • The left lane on eastbound I-10, from Ina to Orange Grove roads will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Wednesday night, Sept. 28 through Friday morning, Sept. 30.

Interstate 10 Frontage Road

  • The westbound I-10 frontage road will have the following restrictions:
  • closed around the clock between Ina and Cortaro roads through the end of the year
  • around the clock lane closures, south of Ina Road, through late September
  • The eastbound I-10 frontage road will have the following restrictions:
  • reduced to one lane daily, south of Ina Road, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through fall 2016
  • reduced to one lane, north of Starcommerce Way, through fall 2016
  • Access to all businesses along the eastbound frontage road will be maintained.
  • Traffic control signs will guide drivers through the work zone.

Ina Road

  • Ina Road, west of I-10 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction from 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, to 5 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24.
  • Ina Road has left-turn lane restrictions at Camino de Oeste (in both directions) and at Camino de la Cruz (from eastbound Ina Road only) around the clock for approximately three months for utility work. U-turns may be restricted during this work.

Massingale Road

  • Massingale Road is closed at the westbound I-10 frontage road through 2017 for the reconstruction of the frontage road.
  • Drivers may use Camino de Oeste as an alternate route.

The project to reconstruct the interchange fully will improve traffic operations on I-10 and on the Ina Road traffic interchange. The project consists of widening I-10 to accommodate an additional lane in each direction and widening Ina Road from Silverbell Road to Camino de la Cruz.  Managed by ADOT, this project is funded by the Regional Transportation Authority of Pima County. The voter-approved, $2.1 billion RTA plan will be implemented through 2026. Details about the full plan are available at www.RTAmobility.com.  Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction equipment and personnel. ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors. For the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 511, except while driving.
