TEMPE, ARIZ. (April 5, 2023) – Terracon Consultants, Inc. is proud to announce it has appointed Joseph A. Phillips, P.E., and Ramon Padilla, P.E. as Senior Principals and Jennifer Tran, P.E. as Principal of the firm.
Terracon’s principal program is designed to recognize and reward employees whose leadership helps fulfill the firm’s “purpose of exploring beyond the surface” commitment as a leader on safe, profitable growth while modeling Terracon’s core values. The role of a principal includes significant contributions beyond “daily responsibilities” in terms of leadership in advancing the company in areas such as technical capability, client experience, employee experience, and community.
Tran is a Senior Project Manager in Terracon’s Avondale office with more than 17 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and design. She had a leading hand in establishing Terracon’s Avondale office in 2018 and continues to support office management.
Tran has more than 13 years of experience in a variety of pavement engineering projects including pavement evaluation in accordance with ASTM D-6433 and PASER, and the design and construction of new pavements. Tran is a Terracon National Account Manager for two major retail chains managing their pavement management programs. She has also been instrumental in the development of Terracon’s new Pave-AI Technology.
Phillips possesses more than 38 years of technical and management experience in the construction materials and engineering industry. As a Senior Pavement Materials Consultant, he supports projects throughout the United States. His experience includes significant project work in pavement design, including highways, airports, and military pavements.
Phillips also specializes in materials engineering, quality assurance, quality control, materials testing, and advanced pavement analysis and consulting. He has been extensively involved in providing standard and mechanistic pavement analysis, forensic investigations, and materials engineering to a variety of projects throughout the U.S.
Padilla has more than 20 years of professional experience on a wide variety of projects mainly in Arizona. He is the Geotechnical Department Manager for the Phoenix office and supports a team of 16 geotechnical professionals.
His experience includes geotechnical investigations and studies for county, municipal, and state projects, bridge and roadway-related structures, federal/military facilities, renewable energy structures, forensic evaluations, embankments, slopes, infrastructure, and commercial and industrial developments.
