Terracon Project Manager Eric Lyding achieves certification of Professional Engineer

TEMPE, ARIZONA – Terracon, an engineering consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Eric Lyding has achieved the certification of Professional Engineer.

Lyding, PE, is a Project Manager for Terracon’s Environmental Department. He is responsible for projects throughout the Western U.S., mainly in Arizona. He manages a variety of environmental projects including:

Industrial hygiene (exposure assessment, noise surveys, ventilation, indoor air quality, mold assessment and remediation, etc.), due diligence (Phase I ESAs), sub-surface investigations (Phase II ESAs, soil/gas surveys), asbestos and lead paint surveys and abatement, Brownfield sites, and regulatory compliance (SWPPPs, SPCCs, audits, and air permitting).

Lyding, PE, is also responsible for mentoring colleagues and reviewing their work.  Additionally, he manages several of Terracon’s industrial hygiene clients and promotes the growth of Terracon’s Industrial Hygiene sector. Terracon strives to be a leader in safety through the Incident, Injury Free (IIF) program.

“Eric has always been a solid performing industrial hygienist,” said Mike Crandall, Manager, Industrial Hygiene Services, CIH, LEED AP, with Terracon. “Having his PE will enhance our ability to attract clients and instill additional confidence in our program.”

Lyding, PE, is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA); American Council of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH); American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC); American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); Environmental Information Association (EIA); Environmental Professionals of Arizona (EPAZ); and U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

“We are excited that Eric has attained his Professional Engineer license,” said Brent Borchers, PE, Senior Principal/Regional Manager for Terracon. “It adds a unique dimension to our environmental practice in Arizona and the Southwest, especially in industrial hygiene services.”

A native of Phoenix, Lyding, PE, earned a B.S. in chemical engineering from Arizona State University. He gives back to the community through Pat’s Run; Race for the Cure (Susan G. Komen); and Climb to Conquer Cancer (American Cancer Society, organized Terracon to sponsor a team). Lyding, PE, is also an integral part in organizing and running Terracon’s annual charity golf event.

Away from the office, Lyding, PE, enjoys cooking, sports, outdoor activities, walking and playing with his two dogs.
