Pima County, April 2, 2024 - Three people submitted letters of interest and supporting documents to be considered by the Pima County Board of Supervisors in their forthcoming appointment of a new Pima County Treasurer. The seat was previously held by Beth Ford, who announced her retirement on March 11 in a letter to the Board of Supervisors. Her effective retirement date is April 12.
The applicants are:
- Patti E. Davidson
- Raymond J. Carroll
- John Christopher Ackerley
During Ford’s six terms as Treasurer, spanning nearly 24 years, she oversaw the development of the Treasurer’s Tax Collection and Cash Management System, which merged all the functions of the Treasurer’s Office into a united software solution.
The Board plans to review the applications by the April 2 Board meeting and determine whether to ask the League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson to conduct a virtual public forum for the candidates.
The Board intends to replace Ford at its April 16 meeting. The appointed person would complete the remainder of Ford’s sixth term, which ends on Dec. 31, 2024.
