TUCSON, AZ (December 23, 2024) -- As we close out 2024, we at Trend Report want to take a moment to thank you for being part of our journey. This holiday season is not just a time for reflection but a chance to refocus on the opportunities ahead and celebrate the memories from 2024 that brought us here.
At Trend Report, we strive to bring a competitive edge to our readers as you map out your goals for 2025. Thank you for choosing us as your trusted partner.
In the Best of Trend for 2024, we acknowledge 2024 was pretty good, but the best is yet to come.
In January 2024, Judy Lowe started the year on a perfect note in The Power of Real Estate: Catalyst for Regional Prosperity. As Judy says, “The economic impact of the real estate industry in Southern Arizona is undeniable.”
In our February Finance issue, Sandra Barton expanded on forces shaping Tucson’s commercial real estate in Charting the Course for Southern Arizona’s Commercial Real Estate Landscape. We’ve added to this a brief summary of the U.S. Real Estate Market Outlook 2025 from CBRE Research.
Last March, when Jeremy Sharpe wrote Why I’m Bullish on Housing in 2024 caused some to raise an eyebrow, so we’ve followed up with the permit numbers for 2024 that show a 20% increase Y-O-Y, courtesy of Bright Future and RL Brown Reports.
In the April issue, Tucson Hits the “Jackpot” with New Casino on Pascua Yaqui Land by Veronica Otero Escobar, brought us inside the construction of the first casino being built inside Tucson City Limits. If that’s not enough, we added the top 6 retail sales over $10 million to celebrate.
For our May issue, Max Fisher wrote Tucson’s Industrial Real Estate Market Direction Determined by Inflation, and truer words were never spoken. We had only 3 industrial sales over $10 million during this period.
When we reached June, Susan Hyatt Dumon with Sun Corridor brought us Economic Development: Team Sport—Regional Sport. Then in December, Sun Corridor and Tucson Metro Chamber announced a merger of the two organizations for 2025, an exciting change that will better position our region’s efforts. We are celebrating this new solution!
In our mid-year July issue, George Hammond confirmed Arizona’s Economy: Steady As She Goes, slow but steady growth.
Then, in August, our Hospitality & Tourism issue, Randi Dorman brought us an exclusive on an exciting new development downtown in NEW Tucson Gastronomy Collective: A Culinary Journey, as we get ready to mark the 10th Anniversary of Tucson’s City of Gastronomy designation.
By September and our multifamily issue, we thought we had to answer questions on everyone’s mind. Scott Stovall did this in The Fed Only Cracks Open the Rate Door in 2024. We had 6 Multifamily sales over $10 million for the period.
October was our Office issue and Philip Skillings shared in West Coast Capital Partners Elevates Williams Center Office Experience how Willaims Center is being transformed. We’ve added the Top 5 office sales over $10 million.
Then, in November we tackled for the first time the subject of regional infrastructure with help from Lea Marquez Peterson in Arizona Corporation Commission: Infrastructure, Balancing Growth and Energy and others who unfolded the struggles of keeping up with progress and prosperity.
For the year-end December issue, we wanted to celebrate some of the noteworthy anniversaries and were thrilled when Melissa Lal and George Larsen were willing to bring us the inside scoop on a new Walmart Supercenter, the first in 15 years for Tucson, in Clean Up on Aisle 13! 35th Anniversary for Tucson Place.
We were then inspired to share 12 Construction Projects to Watch in 2025!
A sincere thank you to everyone who participated in this Trend Report issue! We could not do it without you!
As always, we are grateful for the Trend Report team: Patti van Leer, Michael Rossmann, Melissa Vucijevic, and Jack Paddock.
Work has already begun on our much anticipated “Finance” issue. You won’t want to miss it – and here’s to an even more prosperous year ahead for all!
