PIMA COUNTY — Ballots will be mailed July 8th and voters in Pima County District 1, which includes Oro Valley, Marana, the Foothills and parts of Northwest Tucson will see Vic Williams’ name on the Republican ballot for the Aug. 4 primary election.

Vic is not new to politics and served in the State Legislature as a Representative from Southern Arizona when it was LD 26, serving in the most conservative Legislature in recent history. Vic campaigned on and helped pass the popular SB 1070 and continues to be tough on illegal immigration.

Vic is a Tucson resident, a single dad who raised a son and runs a successful commercial real estate development and management business with office properties in Tucson and Phoenix metro areas. Prior to real estate, he started one of the largest used warehouse equipment material handling and industrial engineering companies in the Western United States from 1990 until May 2003 when he sold the business in California to come to Arizona.

Vic is a proven job creator, supports low taxes and maintaining a strong sustainable economy with limited government.

He believes in stopping illegal immigration and has a vision to bring good paying jobs to Southern Arizona for this generation and the next he told the Real Estate Daily News.

“Before entering this race, I spoke with friends and associates in our district who were looking for a new, conservative voice to replace Supervisor Miller retiring,” said Vic. “It’s time for a change with new leadership for District 1 and I want to be that voice to proudly represent the voters, leading with a conservative, business approach with common sense policies.”

“One of my opponents has been a volunteer to elect Democrat, Ramon Valadez to the Board of Supervisors the past three elections. She has stated publicly to raise taxes and was prepared to run against Supervisor Miller before she announced her resignation. I think we know how she will vote as a Supervisor. Another one of my opponents moved into the District this January for the sole purpose of running in this race and yet a third opponent only registered as a Republican three days before filing his paperwork,” Williams added.

“I am the only true Conservative Republican and experienced policy maker in this race. I have been living here, creating jobs in District 1 and helping stimulate the economy for the past 21 years,” Williams concluded.

While in the Arizona House of Representatives, Vic served or Chaired the following committees:

  • Transportation Committee, Arizona House of Representatives Chairman
  • Joint Legislative and Budget Committee Arizona House of Representatives
  • Appropriations Committee, Arizona House of Representatives
  • Banking and Insurance Committee, Arizona House of Representatives
  • Education Committee, Arizona House of Representatives
  • Public Employees, Retirement and Entitlement Reform Committee, Arizona House of Representatives Vice-Chairman

During his time in the Arizona House of Representatives, he was recognized or endorsed by the following groups:

  • Arizona Commerce Authority
  • Arizona Bioscience Industry Association
  • League of Cities and Towns
  • Arizona General Contractors Association
  • Arizona Chamber of Commerce
  • NFIB – Small Business Association
  • Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce
  • Arizona Association of Realtors
  • Tucson Association of Realtors
  • Tucson Utility Contractors Association

Since 1993, Vic has balanced a professional career and family life while serving his community.

“I believe the fabric of American exceptionalism comes from three interwoven principles: an open and democratic republic, a free-market economy and volunteerism. Each of these are interdependent upon each other,” says Vic. “Through community service, over the past 27 years, I have gained a greater insight into our community needs and how to best govern. Since moving to Southern Arizona, I have raised or contributed nearly $50,000. to such groups as the local Rotary, Lions, Soroptimist Clubs, YMCA, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), the Hearth Foundation, the Christina Taylor-Green Foundation and Tucson Association of Realtors. Before moving to Arizona, I worked closely with regional chapters of the American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Club, Rotary and Habitat for Humanity, doing more hands-on services back then.”
