Tucson Cancer Conquerors host Open House March 16 at Brandi Fenton Memorial Park

TUCSON, Arizona — A group of cancer survivors will host a free open house Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pima County’s Brandi Fenton Memorial Park, 3482 E. River Road.

Food, music, prizes, exercise demos and a huge inflatable slide will be featured at the event, hosted by Tucson Cancer Conquerors (TCC). The all-volunteer group meets regularly at the park’s visitors center, and is dedicated to empowering cancer survivors and those who support them to achieve optimal wellness.

The day will feature walking tours of the park, butterfly garden and Historic Bingham House. Ken Harvey, executive chef at Loews Ventana Canyon will offer cooking demonstrations featuring the TCC organic garden. Mrs. Grant of 94.9 MIXfm also will be on hand.

Within the park’s visitors center, Tucson Cancer Conquerors maintain a resource room and lending library open to all members during TCC events. The 56.7-acre Brandi Fenton Memorial Park is managed by Pima County’s Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Department. The park balances the need for public recreation while retaining the character of the Binghampton Rural Historic Landscape through a collaborative effort involving citizens, elected officials and County staff. The park includes three soccer fields, covered basketball courts, shade ramadas, an equestrian arena and facilities, horse shoe pits, a playground, splash park, an off-leash dog park, walking paths, a fitness course, and a memorial garden at the visitors center.
