TUCSON, ARIZONA -- The Metropolitan Pima Alliance (MPA) has recognized the Tucson Convention Center (TCC) Improvement Project and its partners and collaborators as a 2021 Common Ground Award finalist. The MPA noted that these TCC improvements will “create a larger, more beautiful, and more functional space.”

The TCC Improvement Project continues to move forward and evolve with more upgrades and new meeting rooms added to the original plan. The current focus includes the completion of the new TCC meeting rooms which is expected to be complete by the end of 2021 - in time to host the 2022 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. The other focus is remodeling of the Tucson Music Hall with the largest commitment being made to installing all-new seating. There will also be remodeling of the restrooms, the "Green" room, and dressing rooms, plus upgrades to the lighting and sound system.

The historic Eckbo-designed plaza and fountains will be also getting renovated and are expected to be completed in September.

Rio Nuevo Financial Report Shows Growth
The Rio Nuevo Financial Report had some much-needed good news. There have been increases in sales tax revenues in both retail and restaurant business in the district. A good sign for our community going forward.
