Tucson Non-Profit to Convert Former Bank Branch for Neighborhood Food Pantry

TUCSON, ARIZONA (January 10, 2024) – God’s Vast Resources (GVR) purchased 7,089 square feet of retail space at 6161 E 22nd Street in Tucson from The Valley National Bank of Arizona for $1,150,000 ($162. PSF). The building was built in 1976 and was formerly a Chase Bank Branch with three drive-thru lanes and 68 parking spaces.

The transaction closed on January 4, 2024.

The buyer is a non-profit owned by Mark and Debbie Struble, elders of Church in the Pantry,  a Christian non-denominational church. In November 2010, they officially formed GV Resources, LLC, a for-profit organization created specifically to generate financial resources to help those in need, and 2013 formed God’s Vast Resources, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. In 2014, they began operating as GVR Connect, connecting individuals and organizations and meeting the needs of the Tucson community.

Today, the needs in Tucson are greater than ever, and GVR’s mission is to provide food, clothing, and other essential resources in Eastside Tucson. It has been working from 5707 E 22nd Street on Saturdays, and the new building will be used for The Neighborhood Food Pantry.
