ULI June 3rd Program: So What Does Phoenix Have to Offer?

Phoenix DowntownPHOENIX, AZ – Vibrant American cities have one thing in common: a thriving urban core. Cities such as Miami and Chicago have a diverse network of arts, culture, entertainment, commerce and residential options situated in a dense section of the city.

So what does Metro Phoenix have to offer? That and other questions will be answered June 3 as the Urban Land Institute Arizona District Council presents its next Main Program, Destination Phoenix: Expanding our Urban Core.

Panelists include high-profile Valley developers sharing their insights on why they are turning their focus back to Phoenix’s urban core and the creative leaders and innovators who are driving vibrancy in the area.

A panel discussing developer perspectives of the urban core will include moderator Chris Mackay, Community & Economic Development Director, City of Phoenix; Brent E. Herrington, Executive Vice President, DMB; Matthew Kaufold, Vice President, McCarthy Cook & Co.; and Bill Smith, Principal, Smithfield Properties.

Presenting the role of creative energy in catalyzing development will be moderator David Roderique, President and CEO, Downtown Phoenix Partnership; Amada Cruz, Sybil Harrington Director, Phoenix Art Museum; Greg Esser, Founder and Former Executive Director, Roosevelt Row Community Development Corporation (CDC); and Jenny Poon, Founder, Co-Hoots

Janet Holston, Director of Special Initiatives, Office of the President/University Affairs, Arizona State University, will present a case study quick hit.
