Marana, AZ – Trico Electric Cooperative, a not-for-profit electric cooperative, has awarded a total of $40,000 to nine local agencies that provide critical services to our community.

  • Arivaca Helping Hearts, $2,000
    Emergency assistance for basic needs including food, propane, diapers, formula.
  • Arizona Youth Partnership, $3,000
    Holistic self-sufficiency program for families.
  • Aviva Children’s Services, $5,000
    Abused children’s fund; provides food and shoe vouchers.
  • Community Home Repair Projects of Arizona, $6,500
    Emergency home repairs for low-income homeowners.
  • Green Valley Assistance Services, $3,500
    Emergency financial assistance for families.
  • Mentally Ill Kids in Distress, $5,000
    Mental and behavioral health support system.
  • Marana Unified School District Student Services Department, $5,000
    Power Pack Program; provides food for students on the weekend.
  • Sahuarita Food Bank, $5,000
    Backpacks for Students; provides food for students on the weekend.
  • United Community Health Center, $5,000
    Dental care for children.

Each year, the Providing Opportunities with Effective Resources (POWER) Grant program
awards grants up to $10,000 to individual agencies. Trico employees select the funding focus
each year and a volunteer committee of employees makes the final selections.

Details on the 2017 POWER Grant will be available this fall at www.trico.coop.
