Tucson CREW, the local chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Womens’ (CREW) Network, is pleased to announce two of its members were named ‘Women of Influence’. Jan Cervelli and M Roxanne Veliz were honoured by Inside Tucson Business at this year’s annual ceremony.
Jan Cervelli, Dean of the University of Arizona’s College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture, received the award for her work and “vision” in downtown Tucson. Since becoming dean five years ago, Cervelli has helped the community take huge steps forward downtown, with the design of the Modern Streetcar Corridor and creation of the Main Gate Overlay District, Tucson’s first transit-oriented overlay zoning district. Cervelli enjoys the challenge of bringing Tucson and Pima County administrators together for a common good. Cervelli, in addition to being dean, also teaches, and her students are currently working with the City of Tucson on options for the Ronstadt Transit Center.

M. Roxanne Veliz was named Best Lawyer in America for Banking and Finance Law and Real Estate Law, and in 2011, was selected as one of Arizona’s Finest Lawyers. Veliz is the sole female partner at Snell & Wilmer in Tucson. She’s been a member of Chicanos Por La Causa since 1996 and is dedicated to supporting law students through the University of Arizona Law School.
Cervelli and Veliz join past CREW honorees, Lesli Pintor (2011), Jane McCollum, Linda McNulty, and Barbi Reuter (2012). Reuter is the current President of CREW Tucson and McNulty, Past President.
