TUCSON, ARIZONA - In anticipation of this year's CCIM Legends of Commercial Real Estate celebration luncheon, the Southern Arizona CCIM Chapter is proud to announce its Legends’ recipient will be George Larsen, CCIM, inducted as the 2020 / 2021 Commercial Real Estate Legend.
It will be a celebration of Larsen’s 50 years in commercial real estate as well as a walk down 50 years of commercial real estate milestones history in Southern Arizona.
Larsen is an Illinois-boy who went to ASU on a GI Bill, and after graduating he landed his first job with Rodney Glassman’s father’s land sales company that brought him to Tucson in 1970. The story as he tells it, is he and Don Baker met in 1993 as “two broke real estate developers left over from the Recession” and decided it would be better if they could starve together at least.
The rest is real estate history that legends are made from in Tucson. Larsen Baker went on to become the largest privately held retail property owner in Southern Arizona, re-developing, remodeling, now owning and managing a portfolio of ±3 million-square-feet of Tucson / Southern Arizona commercial properties with ±500 tenants. The company is a leader in the preservation and re-positioning of many of Tucson’s most prominent shopping centers and office complexes, such as Crossroads Festival at Swan and Grant, Circle Plaza at Kolb and Broadway, and Tucson Place Super Center at First and Wetmore.
Larsen has been and remains a valuable asset to Tucson and Southern Arizona acting as a mentor to many other successful commercial real estate professionals. The celebratory roast and luncheon will begin at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, October 12, at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S Church Ave., Tucson. Tickets are only $40 per person - lunch included, tables of (8) are also available for groups.
