Taiwan delegation

PIMA COUNTY (May 6, 2026) -- Pima County recently welcomed an international delegation from Taiwan, reinforcing Southern Arizona’s growing role in global economic development and innovation.

The three-day statewide visit — coordinated locally by Pima County Economic Development, the City of Tucson, and the Arizona Commerce Authority — brought together leaders from private industry, government, and academia, led by representatives from Aeon Corporation.

The delegation’s Pima County visit began at the Pima County Historic Courthouse, where regional partners including the University of Arizona, Pima Community College, and the Chamber of Southern Arizona shared presentations highlighting the region’s economic strengths. Conversations focused on building effective government-to-business partnerships and expanding opportunities for technology exchange through academic collaboration.

The visit continued at the City of Tucson, where Mayor Regina Romero hosted a lunch and meet-and-greet, creating space for deeper dialogue and relationship-building between local leaders and the visiting delegation.

The day concluded with tours of Pima Community College’s Advanced Manufacturing and Automotive Centers of Excellence, as well as the University of Arizona’s newly opened nanofabrication lab — demonstrating the region’s investment in cutting-edge training and research infrastructure.

The visit not only showcased Pima County’s assets but also laid the groundwork for future collaboration, strengthening global connections and opening new pathways for business growth, innovation, and international partnership.
