Phoenix, AZ – Matthew Meaker, a Shareholder with the law firm of Sacks Tierney P.A., recently coauthored two chapters in a primer for green construction lawyers, “Green Building and the Construction Lawyer – A Practical Guide to Transactional and Litigation Issues,” published by the American Bar Association.
The authors of this publication included some of the preeminent authorities in the area of green building and Mr. Meaker has the distinction of being the only contributor from Arizona. His chapters are titled “Green Property Insurance” and “Bonding Considerations for Green Projects.”
“Being green or sustainable is no longer novel, said Meaker.” “This volume seeks to provide practical information and guidance for attorneys and businesses working on these projects.”
Mr. Meaker has practiced law in Arizona for more than 10 years and focuses his practice in construction law, civil litigation and real estate law. He regularly speaks on topics of interest and concern to the construction industry before professional organizations including the American Subcontractors Association, the Arizona Builders’ Alliance, and the Association of the Wall & Ceiling Contractors of Arizona.
He currently serves on the Executive Council of the Construction Law Section of the State Bar of Arizona, as Legal Counsel for the American Subcontractors Association of Arizona, as the Co-Chair of the Construction Executive of the Year committee of the Construction Financial Management Association – Valley of the Sun Chapter and on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors Industry Advisory Council.
