Banner – University Medical Center Tucson Tower
Banner broke ground on a $400 million hospital facility at 1501 N Campbell Avenue in Tucson and is in the midst of new $100 million outpatient Health Center adjacent to University of Arizona Cancer Center / North at Campbell Avenue and Allen Road
The new tower will be nine stories tall and 670,000-square-feet under roof.
The building will feature:
- New main entry, cafeteria and support departments on the first floor
- New diagnostic imaging, diagnostic cardiology, cardiac cath labs and interventional radiology on the second floor
- New operating rooms and patient prep/recovery space on the third floor
- 204 new patient rooms on floors five through nine
- Woman and Infant Services on the fifth floor
- Med/surg and ICU beds on floor six through eight
- Med/surg beds on the ninth floor
- Shelled space on the ninth floor for 24 future patient rooms
More than $50 million in new patient care equipment and computers for state-of-the-art care.
The Tower is expected to open spring 2019.
Architects for the project are Shepley Bulfinch and GLHN Architects & Engineers (Tucson), General Contractor is Sundt I DPR.
At the peak of construction, more than 400 workers will be on-site.
The $400 million project budget for tower includes 75,000-square-foot renovation of existing facility at 1501 N Campbell Avenue.

Banner Health Center
The new outpatient Banner Health Center adjacent to University of Arizona Cancer Center is north at Campbell Avenue and Allen Road. It will be three stories tall, 207,000-square-feet with 33,000-square- feet shelled for future expansion.
The facility will include:
- Outpatient Services:
- Radiation Oncology
- Medical Imaging
- Adult Multi-Specialty Clinics with over 100 exam rooms
- Site Improvements:
- Three-story, 962-space new parking garage
- Repave Allen Road
- Increase storm water detention
- Modification and expansion of the Healing Garden
- More than $20 million in new patient care equipment and computers with $100 million budget. Opening Winter 2017-2018
