Special Evening for Conservation planned on Wednesday, March 25 for Grand Opening of Tucson's Outdoor World

TUCSON, AZ (March 20, 2026) -- North America’s premier outdoor retailer and conservation company will donate 15 percent of sales on most items during its Evening for Conservation to support local conservation efforts. Bass Pro Shops announced that it will officially celebrate the grand opening of its new Tucson Outdoor World location with a special Evening for Conservation on Wednesday, March 25, with entertainment beginning at 5 p.m.

The new 100,000-square-foot Outdoor World store is located at 1500 E. Tucson Marketplace Boulevard and will anchor The Marketplace at the Bridges just off Interstate 10. Designed to serve outdoor enthusiasts across Southern Arizona, the store will reflect the sporting heritage of the Sonoran Desert region. It will be Bass Pro Shops’ third Arizona location, offering the brand’s signature mix of outdoor gear, expert service, and immersive in-store experiences.

Founded in 1972 by noted conservationist and angler Johnny Morris, Bass Pro Shops began in an 8-square-foot space inside his father’s liquor store in Springfield, Missouri. That single location remained the company’s only store for its first 13 years. Today, Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s serve one of the most loyal customer bases in outdoor retail, attracting an estimated 250 million shoppers annually across the United States and Canada.

Bass Pro Shops has built its reputation on a commitment to quality, value, conservation, and friendly expert service. The company has been recognized repeatedly at the national level, including being named America’s Most Trusted Outdoor Retailer by Newsweek for each of the past five years, ranking as the top outdoor retailer on Newsweek’s America’s Best Retailers list for the fourth consecutive year in 2025, and earning a place among America’s Most Admired Workplaces 2025.

A long-standing Bass Pro Shops tradition, started by Johnny Morris, the Evening for Conservation brings together sportsmen, sportswomen, families, and conservation leaders to support organizations that protect natural resources and support outdoor recreation. During the Tucson event, 15 percent of sales on most items will be donated to local conservation organizations.

The Tucson community is invited to attend a public ribbon-cutting ceremony and kickoff celebration featuring entertainment, celebrity appearances from the hunting and fishing world, family activities, giveaways, and more.

Festivities on March 25 will begin with a live performance by singer-songwriter Celeste Kellogg at 5 p.m., followed by the official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m., and the store opening.

The grand opening celebration will continue throughout the weekend with promotions and family-friendly attractions. Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s CLUB members will receive 10 percent off almost everything from March 25 through March 29. Daily door prizes will be awarded to the first 200 families through the doors from Thursday, March 26, through Saturday, March 28.

Families will also be able to take free photos with the Easter Bunny, beginning after the ribbon cutting on March 25 and continuing through Easter Sunday. Free reservations open March 26 at Bass Pro Shops’ Easter photo page. Bass-shaped Easter eggs with surprise items inside will also be available while supplies last.

Among the store’s signature features is a 15,000-gallon aquarium set within an abandoned mine-themed environment, complete with a waterfall, mine tracks, and a sunken ore cart. The aquarium will showcase bass, trout, catfish, crappie, and sunfish through a partnership with the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

The new store will also feature Bass Pro Shops’ lineup of boat brands, including TRACKER, RANGER, NITRO, SUN TRACKER, REGENCY, and TAHOE, all built by White River Marine Group. In addition, the on-site POWER PROS service center will provide maintenance and repair services for boats, motors, ATVs, and UTVs, as well as parts and accessories, all handled by certified technicians.
