Tymins joins Phoenix’s successful multifamily team

PHOENIX – January 4, 2023 – CBRE announced today that Griffen Tymins had joined its multifamily team to focus on Build-to-Rent (BTR) investment sales across Phoenix and the Southwest.

Mr. Tymins has many years of real estate experience, specializing in the sale of BTR communities. He joins from Alliance Residential Company, where he led the firm’s expansion into the BTR market through its Silveray brand. During his tenure, he managed the sale of nearly 2,700 units across the southwest with a total market capitalization of nearly $1 billion.

"Griffen is a highly skilled real estate advisor with a deep understanding of the BTR sector," said Paul Komadina, CBRE's Senior Managing Partner in Phoenix. "He will provide invaluable leadership as we continue to expand our capabilities in this space, and further differentiate the breadth of strategic advice we provide to our clients throughout the Southwest.”

The BTR sector has boomed in recent years across the Valley. Since 2018, developers have delivered more than 10,000 build-to-rent units in Arizona, with an additional 8,400-plus units preleased or currently under construction, and another 9,000 units planned.

The addition of BTR expertise to CBRE’s institutional multifamily practice in Phoenix, which includes Asher Gunter, Matt Pesch, Sean Cunningham, and Austin Groen, will complement a team that has closed more than $40.5 billion in multifamily investment sales, to date.

"BTR communities have consistently proven to be a resilient asset class, and the sector is well positioned for continued growth both in Metro Phoenix and nationally,” said Mr. Tymins. “The strength of the CBRE platform, combining regional knowledge with national expertise, sets it apart from competitors and will enhance the value that I can provide to clients,"
