TUCSON, Arizona (August 18, 2023) -- Rio Nuevo Multipurpose Facilities District closed on the Indian Village Trading Post at 72 East Congress for $1.5 million from BP Post Developers, LLC (Don Bourn, manager) to rehabilitate the 7,115-square-foot building into restaurant use.
Built in 1897, the building at 72 E. Congress St. has housed everything from banks to dry goods stores and drugstores and, lastly, was home to the Indian Village Trading Post, the name by which it is most remembered. The historic downtown Tucson office building that has been vacant for nearly 20 years will now be getting renewed life.
Rio Nuevo awarded the property to partners Zach Fenton, Brenndon Scott, and Danny Scordato and are committed to the $5.5 million project to rehabilitate and reactivate the long-vacant property at Scott and Congress.
The trio’s successful projects include well-known restaurants and bars around Tucson, such as Reilly Craft Pizza, Bata, The Boxyard, John Henry’s, Vivace, and Uptown Burger.
