Tucson, AZ, (June 8, 2026) – Commercial real estate visionary and co-founder of Larsen Baker, LLC, George Larsen, will retire from the company on September 30, 2026, after 32 years of service. Even after retirement, George’s impact on commercial real estate in Tucson will be felt for decades to come.
George, with his partner Donald Baker, grew Larsen Baker into the largest commercial property owner and management company in Southern Arizona. He did so through a unique combination of deal intuition, well-written business letters he called begging letters, generosity to his employees, investors, and tenants, and an unwavering commitment to his word with a handshake.

In 2021, George sold the majority of the company to longtime employees Melissa Lal and Jennifer Whitman. Larsen Baker currently has 45 full-time employees, many of whom have worked at the company for decades.
“The greatest privilege of my career has been learning real estate from George.” said Larsen Baker’s CEO and President, Melissa Lal. “He’s taught me that a successful deal is one where everyone at the table wins.”
While George is retiring from the day-to-day operations of Larsen Baker, he will continue to invest in and manage his personal real estate portfolio and to mentor young people working in commercial real estate.
