TUCSON, ARIZONA -- The Macarthur Building at 345 East Toole in Tucson is an iconic downtown Tucson property, originally built in 1907. It was named the Hotel Heidel and in 1944, renamed MacArthur Hotel. The hotel was built to serve passengers arriving via the Southern Pacific Railroad Depot. The hotel closed in 1979 and was renovated for office use in 1985.
Madden Preprint Media, dba Madden Media, a direct marketing service company bought the triangle-shaped MacArthur Building in 2008 from the City of Tucson for $1.7 million. Madden Media is a destination marketing agency working with communities across the country to promote tourism, workforce attraction, and economic development. For over 35 years, Madden Media has helped communities share their story using the latest marketing strategies with over 100 current employees.
The company has occupied the 24,260-square-foot, three-story building since 2009 and will continue to occupy it in a sale leaseback agreement with the new owner for its corporate headquarters.
The historic flatiron architecture with contemporary interior, includes bright floorplans with multiple conference rooms, and many private offices.
Brenna Lacey, Vice-President, of VOLK Company represented the seller, Macarthur Tucson, LLC in the sale to California investor, Moreno Valley Gateway, LLC for a purchase price of $4.6 million ($190 PSF).
