PIMA COUNTY (February 28, 2025) -- Pima County Economic Development hosted a Foreign Direct Investment reception for a Japanese delegation Feb. 21, in partnership with the Arizona Commerce Authority, the University of Arizona, the City of Tucson and Sun Corridor, Inc. The event was held at the Historic Pima County Courthouse.
The delegation was composed of more than 50 Japanese technology companies that are seeking to expand into the United States, specifically Arizona — and Southern Arizona in particular.
The reception provided our partners with the opportunity to showcase our region’s competitive advantages to attract these businesses to locate in Pima County.
Present during the delegation’s visit and reception were Kenko Sone, the Consulate General of Japan in LA, Rex Scott, chair of the Pima County Board of Supervisors, and many other economic development, academia, and private industry representatives and practitioners from across Pima County.
