TUCSON, AZ (May 6, 2024) -- The newest location of La Estrella Bakery is now open; the grand opening was held Sunday at 141 S. Stone Ave. #100, just across the street from the Saint Augustine Cathedral, on the ground level of the building that also houses Home2Suites by Hilton and the Hampton Inn.
A Tucson staple, La Estrella Bakery has been a family-owned Mexican pastry bakery for nearly 40 years.
The Estrella team is quoted on its website describing the local bakery as, "The local meet-and-greet where people talk about politics is in a Mexican bakery. Bakeries inform everyone about the community, and we usually have a dialogue with the customer." After all, it is where folks get your daily bread.
Other locations for La Estrella Bakery in town include one at Mercado San Agustin at 100 S. Avenida Del Convento, another in Barrio Hollywood at 901 N. Grande Ave., and then the original location at 5266 S. 12th Ave, which first opened its doors and fired up the ovens in 1986.
