Second Valley Location Planned to Open in Early 2018
PHOENIX, Arizona – Little Miss BBQ, one of Metro Phoenix’ most popular restaurants, has purchased a freestanding retail building at 8901 N. 7th St. in North Central Phoenix for expansion of its brand.
Nugget Landholdings LLC purchased a freestanding retail building within the Walgreens Center at the southeast corner of 7th Street and Dunlap Avenue. The limited liability corporation was formed by Little Miss BBQ founders Scott and Bekke Holmes. The building was sold by Townley 7th LLC, a Phoenix-based limited liability corporation. The transaction was handled by Larry Ortega, JK Jackson and Larry Miller of Colliers International in Greater Phoenix.
“In my opinion, Central Phoenix has an early Christmas gift,” says Ortega. The BBQ restaurant has been heralded as having some of the best BBQ west of the Mississippi. Little Miss BBQ has attracted a huge following and diners have been willing to wait more than an hour in line for the restaurant’s heralded delicacies.
Little Miss is a creation of the husband and wife team, Scott and Bekke Holmes. “It is always amazing to work with forward thinking buyers and sellers, looking to utilize buildings with a unique history and location,” said Jackson. The retail building purchased for Little Miss BBQ served as a former Western Union bank location with excellent frontage on 7th Street. Constructed in 1965, the building contains approximately 23,958-square-feet of space. The buyers purchased the structure for $725,000.
This new location will be an additional restaurant to the original Little Miss BBQ at 4301 E. University Drive in Downtown Phoenix. Little Miss BBQ specializes in Central Texas style BBQ served meat market style. All of the freshly barbecued meats are served by weight in butcher paper with onions, pickles, jalapenos and white bread. The meats are cooked using Arizona oak and pecan wood in massive offset Camelback Smokers. Plans call for the new North Central restaurant to open early next year.
