PIMA COUNTY –Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) is proud to host Dr. Kelly’s Mobile Vet several times over the holiday season.  Dr. Kelly’s offers a variety of services like spay and neuter surgeries, mass removals, dental care, microchipping, vaccinations, and some other surgeries.

“The cost of owning a pet can sometimes be a bit difficult when other bills are piling up or when something unexpected happens like a loss of a job or an illness in the family,” said Kristen Hassen, Director of Animal Services. “We are grateful for groups like Dr. Kelly’s Mobile Vet who can help people on a budget take care of their pets.”

Costs for services range from $10 to around $800. People interested in having their pet seen that day should start filling out the forms before the event. Surgeries often only take a few hours and pet owners are expected to pick up their pets within 30 minutes of their discharge time, as space is limited in the van. For questions, just head to the Dr. Kelly’s website.

The van is equipped with hospital-grade surgical equipment. It will be parked at PACC in the overflow parking lot on the following dates:

  • Dec 9
  • Dec. 20
  • Dec. 30
  • Jan. 10
  • Jan. 20
  • Jan. 28

There are 613 of pets looking for a home for the holidays, with another 687 in foster care. PACC is hoping to clear the shelter by Dec. 24 through adoption and fostering. People interested in fostering can show up any time the shelter is open or send an email to PACC.foster@pima.gov.

Of those 1,300 pets, some are in need of surgeries or other medical treatment. Anyone interested in donating to help shelter pets get their much needed surgery or medicine, can visit the Friends of PACC website: www.friendsofpacc.org.

All pets adopted from PACC come spayed or neutered, with age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip, and a free vet visit. People who are interested in adopting a pet can look for them online or visit them in person at 4000 N. Silverbell Road. PACC’s normal business hours are Monday through Friday, noon-7 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends.
