PIMA COUNTY, (Oct. 9, 2024) – The Pima County Elections Department passed its official logic and accuracy testing on Oct. 7 for the Nov. 5 General Election.
As state law requires, the County’s Elections Department must conduct the logic and accuracy test before early voting on Oct. 9 and produce a 100 percent accuracy test. Once a County passes its L&A testing, it can begin tabulating early ballots, and Pima County Elections intends to start counting on Oct. 17. State law prohibits the release of the results of tabulation until an hour after polls close on Election Day.
State of Arizona Elections Director Lisa Marra and representatives from the Pima County Democratic and Republican parties were present to test the County’s tabulation equipment and accessible voting devices. The results ensure all voting equipment used for the election reads and accepts the correct ballot types assigned and then accurately accumulates and reports the total number of votes for each candidate.
